1/9/2024 0 Comments Actual size of trexrex., like all dinosaurs, it was always making new teeth. rex broke off some of those teeth on or in the bones of other dinosaurs.įortunately for T. rex could well have penetrated the hide (except when armored), the flesh, and the bones of another dinosaur with a single bite. With thick, strong teeth the size of bananas, T. rex's size advantage over other predators, its teeth were oversized. But as Jim Farlow, a dinosaur paleontologist at the University of Indiana, Purdue, found, even in proportion to T. rex to have big teeth, since it was one of the biggest carnivores ever. They were some of the biggest teeth of any dinosaur (Spinosaurus, a North African dinosaur known only from bits and pieces, had bigger teeth and may have been a bigger carnivore). These cheek teeth were enormous, a foot long including the root, and as big around as a child's fist. rex had twelve or thirteen additional teeth on each side of the upper jaw. They would have been more precise in raking meat from bone, Phil says, without biting right through the bone as T. The shape of these teeth was fairly wide and flat, designed for nipping, according to tooth expert Phil Currie. Among meat-eating dinosaurs, only the little Troodons and tyrannosaurids had these. Up front, it had incisor-like teeth, as all tyrannosaurids do, four on each premaxilla, the bone in the front of the upper jaw. There might have been fifty teeth in its mouth at any one time. rex had bigger choppers, more varied in size and shape, than those of other tyrannosaurids.

1/9/2024 0 Comments Skyvue drive in theaterHow long after that time it was still operating I cannot remember. I just wanted to add that this drive in – the Sky Vue – was opened at least until 1964 or 1965 whenever “Carpetbaggers” was released. I remember a new road and bridge were built from Rohrerstown Road to get to the Comet. Mostly soft core from what I had heard Drive-In 54 on Januat 12:43 pm. Up for auction is an Original Speaker from the SKY VUE DRIVE-IN THEATRE, that I hand selected, in NICE, Theatre Fresh Working condition, for this auction. I remember seeing Flesh Gordon here in 1974. This was primarily and XX rated Drive In. The Comet was doomed when they made Route 283 a limited access highway and they had to change the entrance to one of the roads that surrounded the theatre. The lot’s still intact with rows and everything, but no structures remain. The Chertcoff company also operated the Comet Drive In theatre West of Lancaster off of what is now Route 283. I remember for the Summer holidays there would have one of those all night 4 or 5 feature shows. There was a long driveway from route 30 to the entrance and box office. It feels great In the ‘90s, Dad kept it going, Steve said. The screen was in the back and was perpendicular to the highway. Sky-Vu is one of the top 10 oldest (drive in theaters) in the world still going, Steve Novak said. The last time I was there, if you drive to the back of the center the light poles were still there that were on either side of the screen. Periodically the drive in showed first run movies, but most of the time they were either second run or “b movies.” The drive in was located where the Tanger Outlet center is now. The Sky-Vue Drive-In opened on Jwith Bing Crosby in Pennies From Heaven. It was closed in 2011 but reopened for the 2014 & 2015 season, but closed as a 35mm operation, unable to raise funds for digital projection. Located in Midtown in the Orange Mound neighborhood of Memphis. The drive-in was open seasonally from May thru September. Car capacity is listed at 500 with sound over FM radio and pole speakers. The Sky-Vu Drive-In was a single screen drive-in with a capacity for 200 cars. I remember going there to see the “very adult” movie “The Carpetbaggers” with George Peppard. The Skyvue Drive-In was opened June 9, 1967. The Sky Vue Drive in was in operation until at least the mid 1960’s. 1/9/2024 0 Comments Macbook air extra screenThe powerful M2 processor is likely why the new MacBook Air has a shorter battery life than its predecessor. That’s a bit behind the previous Air M1 (14:41), but this is still superb endurance. On the Tom’s Guide battery test, which involves continuous web surfing at 150 nits of screen brightness, the new Air averaged 14 hours and 6 minutes. The MacBook Air M2 is one of the longest-lasting laptops out there. MacBook Air M2 vs MacBook Air M1: Battery life Needless to say that neither Apple laptop is ideal for playing graphically-intensive games. Rise of the Tomb Raider averaged 29 frames per second at 1440 x 900 while Civilization VI reached 36 fps at the same resolution. The M1-powered MacBook Air saw similar results. Lara Croft stumbling through the desert on the MacBook Air M1 perfectly represents what it's like gaming on both Air laptops. On Geekbench 5.3, the MacBook Air M1 hit 7,575 on multi-core – which is a 17% difference. On Geekbench 5.4, which measures overall performance, the MacBook Air M2 scored 8,919 on the multi-core portion of the test. It’s no surprise that the latest MacBook Air defeats the previous model, performance-wise. The M2-powered MacBook Pro impressed us during our testing and we’re happy to report that the Air M2 is another stunner. The new MacBook Air packs the equally new Apple M2 chip. MacBook Air M2 vs MacBook Air M1: Performance In addition, the new laptop has a higher pixel count due to its larger screen. While the Air M1 produces a tad more of the sRGB color gamut, the Air M2 is decidedly brighter. According to our colorimeter test, the MacBook Air M1 produces 114.3% of the sRGB spectrum and is capable of producing up to 365.8 nits of brightness. The MacBook Air M1 features a 13.3-inch (2560 x 1600) pixel Retina display that’s adept at showing fine detail in whatever content you’re watching. Then simply connect the monitors as above-and enjoy your three screens. The MacBook Air M2 features a gorgeous 13.6-inch Retina display. This uses Silicon Motion’s InstantView technology, meaning you’ll have to grant it access to your privacy settings for your MacBook to recognise the adapter. Want to connect a second monitor for the MacBook Air? It’s possible with a dual HDMI adapter, which allows for one 4K display at 60 Hz and another 4K display at 30 Hz. Simply route the external monitor through the adapter and you’re good to go. In this case, you will need to use an adapter, like the ThinkPad Universal Thunderbolt 4 Dock. This can present an issue if your external monitor only supports a USB-A cable. It is important to check the ports on your MacBook to determine whether you need an adapter – the MacBook M1 Pro 16” has a built-in Thunderbolt 4 (USB-C) port, while the MacBook Air 13” has a Thunderbolt 3 port. It is worth knowing that a Thunderbolt port will support a standard USB-C cable, so don’t worry if one of your external monitors comes with one. By contrast, a standard USB-C port has only half the transfer and running power, making it a less impressive prospect. Known as “the port to end all ports”, Thunderbolt 4 is the fastest data transfer standard today, allowing for speeds of up to 40 GB/s, and has the power to run two 4K displays at the same time. Using a USB port on the MacBook Pro for a second monitor is all about Thunderbolt 4. Thunderbolt versus USB-C: what’s the difference? Just don’t forget to adjust the display settings for best results. The M1 Pro’s two external monitors are capable of displaying up to 6K resolution at 60Hz, making it perfect for video editing, CAD work and more. How to connect a second monitor to the MacBook ProĬonnecting external monitors for the MacBook Pro is simple: All you need to do is connect the monitor to its external power source, and then use an HDMI cable or Thunderbolt/USB-C cable to rig the monitor to the MacBook. If you have a MacBook Air 13”, you can set up one additional monitor through its native hardware-though there is a workaround to connect another (see below). So how many monitors can you connect to your MacBook Pro? On the MacBook M1 Pro 16”, the Thunderbolt 4 (USB-C) and HDMI ports allow you to connect up to two external monitors easily. in Slack), reference files or CAD blueprints. You may also want another screen for your work chats (e.g. How to connect a second monitor for your MacBook Pro and Macbook Air External monitors for your MacBook: a guideĪ second monitor can be handy if you wish to use multiple programs at the same time, leading to less clicking between windows and a better workflow. 1/9/2024 0 Comments My paypal prepaid cardTo account for Renter potentially incurring additional amounts owed under the rental contract, at the time of rental, renters without a ticketed return travel itinerary will be required to provide a deposit between $300 and $850 depending on the rental location and class of vehicle rented. If you prefer stainless steel over plastic, check out the Neater Pets Stainless Steel Slow Feeder Bowl. It has deep, challenging grooves, a non-skid base, and comes in two sizes. Our favorite slow feeder is the Outward Hound Fun Feeder Slo Bowl in the turquoise drop shape. In that case, soak in warm water and detergent first before scrubbing.ĭimensions: 8.5 x 11.75 inches | Volume: 2 cups 4 cups | Material: Plastic It has a non-skid bottom and is made of BPA, PVC, and phthalate-free plastic which is safe to wash in the top rack of the dishwasher.īecause of the twisty design, it can get grungy quickly and sometimes a top-rack wash isn’t enough to get it incredibly clean. The bowl comes in two sizes which hold as much as two or four cups of kibble. However, if your dog easily masters these puzzles, this one might be too simple! That can make it less frustrating for dogs who have trouble with less intricate designs. The swirly, flower-shaped design offers more surfaces for food to be pushed against. It has a non-skid base and can be cleaned on the top shelf of the dishwasher.ĭimensions: 9.5 x 8 x 2.65 inches (medium/mini) 12.75 x 11 x 2.88 inches (regular/large) | Volume: 2 cups 4 cups | Material: PlasticĪnother bowl from Outward Hound, this slow feeder is easier for dogs to retrieve food from than our top pick, which makes it a good choice for dogs who aren’t yet used to eating from a slow feeder. The bowl is made from plastic that is BPA, PVC, and phthalate free. That means all pieces fall in the grooves and it takes some time to eat them. One of our test dogs eats 1/2 cup per meal and uses the regular/large size. The mini/medium holds two cups and the regular/large holds four. It can be frustrating for pups new to the slow-feeder challenge, but most figure it out fairly quickly. The trenches are deep, which makes this even more challenging for dogs that have mastered puzzle bowls. A pup has to take time to pick up kibble in all the grooves and crannies in the maze-like bowl. This simple one with deep circular swirls is a favorite. Outward Hound makes a large array of slow feeder bowls in different designs, sizes, and colors. Grooves can be too big for some small dogs 1/8/2024 0 Comments Midipipe for macConnect one adapter to the hub, one to the other USB adapter. These usually have two 5-pin male connectors, one for MIDI out, one for MIDI in. You could get two USB to 5-pin MIDI adapters. I was using a straight forward usb to midi cable. Connecting by BT MIDI in AUM does work, but it's more fiddly than I'd said: could get a second usb to midi Someone else may have the best solution for this. There will be some lag, and the messages will be merged, only distinguishable by MIDI channel number. You might be able to route your controllers to Network MIDI using Audiobus, AUM, or MIDIFire, then connect the second iPad to Network MIDI. Someone else may have the best solution for said: computer, it behaves as a slave, responding to commands from the master, e.g. The USB port on the hub that you tried is a slave port, and your second iPad wants to be a master.Įdit: When you connect an iPad to a USB master, e.g. That's why most USB cables have different connectors on each end. This doesn't work because USB is a master-slave protocol, one master, many slaves. Why doesn't this work, and is there some other way to do what I want? I had imagined they would do so if I plugged the second iPad into the USB hub with a USB-A to USB-A cable and the old (unpowered) CCK, but they don't. I would like all the MIDI controllers to also show up on the second iPad. I'll try to check back for troubleshooting.I have two iPad Pros (2017) and I have all my MIDI controllers connected to one of them using the USB3 CCK and a powered USB hub. ( and contain some good info) If you didn't see it, reread this and try again. Then you're on to mapping, which is explained elsewhere in this forum, so I won't. You should see "X-CCXX" appear in the space (Xs are numbers). ) At this point, you should be able to open Virtual DJ, click on Mapping under settings, click on "Simple MIDI Wrapper" then the "Key Learn" button. Set MidiPipe Input to "DSMidiWifi-out" and MiDiPipe Output to "IAC Bus 1." ( *NOTE* - in MidiPipe you have to drag the item from the left window to the right window to activate the input/output. (*OSCulator note - you should see the buttons in the OSCulator file light up when you move the sliders/knobs/buttons in Touch OSC ) For DJ Control, open "DSMidiWifi" (runs silently in the background) and MidiPipe. Launch MidiPipe and set the input to "MidiPipe Input 1" and output to "IAC Bus 1." Set the output in OSCulator (under parameters>I/O) and make sure "MidiPipe Output 1" is checked. If you go with OSC, start up OSCulator and load the matching MIDI CC map (believe they came with the OSCulator ). You'll need to enter the IP address of your MAC in the app setting so it links to your computer. Programs Required: - Virtual DJ (I was using 7.x) - Android App (I used TouchOSC and DJ Control, both free apps on the Market, DJ Control has an ad-free version for $1.99) - OSCulator ( shareware, easier - ) - OR - qosc ( needs Quartz Composer dev software ) - DSMidiWifi (available here, ) - MidiPipe (the brilliant solution, mad props! - ) Obviously, you also need Wifi access. I'm assuming you can figure out the basics for each program, just noting the things you might miss along the way. I figured there had to be a way to loop internally, and there was. I attempted to rout out-in through a USB MIDI interface, but I think either the software of hardware was killing the loop. The key issue with OSC-style support and Virtual DJ was the inability to grab the MIDI signal internally. I looked around a bit before figuring a lot of this out for myself. With the increased presence of Android phones and tablets, this should come in handy soon, if you haven't already tried and failed. Try and see if you can keep life overnight in this game or not! "We have also carefully been listening to concerns where they have arisen, and we are now committed to delivering this important conservation project and working with all of our stakeholders to ensure its success." The young birds are likely to be introduced in 2022 after being translocated from a healthy population in Poland.ĭominic Buscall, manager at Wild Ken Hill, said: "We are delighted to have the go ahead to bring back white-tailed eagles to Eastern England, and overwhelmed by the support we have received from all sectors. White-tailed eagles eat largely fish but also rabbits, hares and other birds. The team said no issues with conservation sites or farms have been recorded with any of the 13 birds released on the Isle of Wight, in a scheme being run by the Roy Dennis Wildlife Foundation and Forestry England. Rob Wise, NFU East Anglia Environment Advisor The likely range of these birds is home to around half of the country’s outdoor reared pigs and poultry, and is also an area with a significant amount of sheep grazing. It is not the outcome they hoped for, with all members who expressed a view to us being opposed to the proposal. Our members will be very concerned about this project going ahead. The National Farmers' Union says it's important to ensure that any impact the birds have on livestock and agricultural conservation are met with 'appropriately.' The team said they were given the go-ahead after a detailed feasibility study and a public consultation which showed high public support, with 91% backing the scheme, and 63% of farmers indicating support for the proposals.Ĭoncerns have been raised in the past about the impact on livestock such as lambs from the birds. In Gaelic, this eagle’s name means ‘the eagle with the sun-lit eye’ – and it does indeed have a light gold or amber iris. In 2020, white-tailed eagles released on the Isle of Wight by the Roy Dennis Foundation spent time in the North Yorkshire Moors. Research data from satellite tags has shown that juveniles can travel widely in their first three or four years. Younger birds often explore before settling in an area. In England, white-tailed eagles have also been released by the Roy Dennis Foundation in the Isle of Wight, where populations have been increasing thanks to protective measures being put in place. However, the species remains on the endangered Red List as it is slow to breed. Over the years, further releases took place and there are now thought to be around 40 pairs north of the border. The RSPB became involved in a long-term plan to re-introduce the species in Scotland in the mid 1970s and initially a number of young Norwegian birds were released on Rum, in the Inner Hebrides. The last British bird was shot in Shetland in 1918. Once widespread across our isles, white-tailed eagles were wiped out in the early 20th Century due to illegal killing. I didn’t catch sight of the black-browed albatross that visited the cliffs last year, however this was almost as good”. Volunteer, Linda MacKenzie, witnessed the fly past: “I couldn’t quite believe it – it was so exciting to see these two majestic birds but trying to keep track of both was tricky. They feed mainly on fish, so they are also known as sea eagles. These giants of the sky have a massive wingspan of around 2.4metres (approx 8 feet - the same size at the height of football goal crossbar from the ground) and are widely known to birdwatchers as the ‘flying barn-door’ of the bird world. Volunteers on the nature reserve’s viewing platforms were amazed to see not one but two white-tailed eagles, the UK’s largest birds of prey, soaring over the sea.
